Sprint-owned Boost Mobile announced today that they will be offering a Pre-paid Android phone in their arsenal of "no credit needed" phones.
While it does have the Nextel-made-famous push-to talk/annoy functionality, the Motorola i1 runs an antiquated version of Android, version 1.5. That means a lot of the latest apps and functionality won't be available at launch.
However, it does expand Android's reach to those who prefer not to sign up for long term plans. Also, those without credit (new to US?, bad mortgage, etc.) can now join the Android ranks.
That might give Android's market share another tiny... Boost.
